“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.”
Fundamentals of Yoga: a welcoming and intelligent approach to teaching beginners yoga. This modality is designed to clearly explain alignment, to give the student a sense of familiarity and even mastery through repetition, to spark the student’s innate curiosity about the physical body and the philosophical system of yoga. The student will leave noticing positive changes in their overall sense of wellbeing and feel empowered to want to come back for subsequent classes.
Foundations: This practice is accessible to most. It is a vinyasa flow class. We move mindfully and at a reasonable pace while emphasizing safe alignment. We work on fostering both strength and flexibility to embody the essence of the basic postures that reside in the major asana (pose) families. We use repetition to foster familiarity and deepen understanding.
It is a class offering dedicated to the practice not the perfection of a yoga pose.
Down To Earth Vinyasa Flow: This practice is appropriate for a regular practitioner or an athletic person with good kinesthetic awareness and an adventurous attitude. It is a vinyasa flow class with an emphasis on FORM. We move mindfully at a slow and steady tempo to ensure that we are tapping into our own strength to move in a sacred way. We will use key actions moving from simple to complex to approach a peak pose, transition or experience that is challenging for most.
Anjali Restorative Yoga: a true offering from the heart. This style of yoga was founded and developed by Shannon Paige. It is a very gentle practice blended with deep meditation. The practitioner is held by bolsters, pillows and blankets for sustained periods of time in deeply rejuvenative postures. Your experience will be crafted with incredible detail to ease, rich imagery, guided meditations, and restorative breathing practices. The effects of Anjali Restorative Yoga are profound states of calm, focus, ease, and restored sense of wellbeing.
Aerial Yoga: AIReal Yoga™ uses a looped fabric (hammock), that swivels freely on a single point taking the practice to a higher level. It allows each student to deepen his stretch, correct her alignment, refine postures and safely perform inversions. The hammock serves as a prop for improving and challenging the practitioner’s balance, and as a spotting device to safely guide the student into yoga postures that may have previously seemed impossible. This new form of yoga is equally beneficial for beginners and advanced students, alike. Students get to practice yoga in the air, defy gravity, move freely, release fear, and float into a deeper understanding of their own wellness. Funny spelling? Yes! This is a play on the word aerial, because AIReal Yoga™ is yoga in the AIR and is Really yoga. AIReal Yoga™ is the only brand and teacher training of aerial yoga accredited by the Yoga Alliance.
